The Songs From The Distant Past situation continues on the Earworm Chart, with Sloan now listening to the demo and practice recordings of my second garage band Conspiracy Theorists. Again, I’ve been surprised at how well those songs have stood up over the years. I’d like to have better recordings, with full studio equipment and all the trimmings, but twenty years later, they certainly don’t suck.
There’s also a small change to the default behavior of the Earworms Table: instead of starting at the beginning of the list, it now starts at the end, so it’s easier to check the newest entries. To get this to work properly I had to come up with a calculated value I’m calling Theorellian Time, which is the decimal representation of the days since my birth. While convoluted, it’s kinda nice to have a personal Julian Time, and it allows me to sort the list strictly chronologically rather than having to do all sorts of rigamaroles with the date stamp formats.
